This is to get an idea of how a multi-family traditional Yard Sale can be set up as an online auction. The obvious advantage to this is as an alternative to the traditional yard sale where items tend to get sold at a fixed price (usually a very low price) is that the seller can sit back and give many potential buyers the opportunity to bid against each other.

It's a lot like EBay until you get to the actual end of the auction. Now instead of packaging up an item and sending it off to the highest bidder and hoping that you haven't been scammed, you now announce an actual pick up day and nad deliver the items to the highest bidders who show up with cash.

After families sign-on and are instructed on how to upload pictures & descriptions of item that they would like to sell, links to this site can be published through venues such Craigslist as http://raleigh.craigslist.org/ to help promote the auction.
